6/ After the event, how did the neighbors behave towards the man ? Why ?

The neighbors considered him a hero because he saved the life of the girl by calling the police. Without his help, she would probably have died, he made an heroic act spontaneously.

7/How did he feel about his new "status" ? Why ?

He was a hero without want being that. He remained simple, modest and shy and he did not boast over this "heroic act". He wants to remain anonymous, a citizen like the others who just had a good reflex and return to live normally as if nothing had happened.

8/ "He wished she would either coming or go away"; What does this sentence reveal about his feelings towards the girl's visit ?

The principal character in this story clearly didn't want to be seen with the girl. But after thinking this, it certainly regret to have been considered even though he was only thanks to this heroic act and not by what he is. But he was an idol and he returned to the anonymity of everyday life, it is difficult for him! But he has no choice and must to resign himself to "forget it" and continue living.

III- What does the word "Hero" mean to you ? Illustrate your answer with specific examples.

The word hero in my point of view includes several heroes. Indeed, according to times, contexts and points of views, the hero does not evoke the same for individuals. For my part, I would distinguish in this brief analysis: The hero of stories, the hero of everyday and the historical hero.

First of all, we must be careful to not confuse a hero and a celebrity. Fame does his heroic character by media coverage that it be granted then that the hero already has a heroic character that the media merely recovered. (Indeed it is not because you're famous for winning a reality show that you are a hero !)

A literary hero is defined by me as a person that have a perfect character or nearly, who performs acts that nobody could did. For example it is in "L'Odysée" of Homère, the character of Ulysses is brave, humble and fighting for a worthy goal, to find his wife.

Then we can describe and give an example of everyday hero. From my point of view, this is a man like others, that is not distinguished from the rest of the population but who one day will perform an heroic act without thinking. It is for example a person who helps people spontaneously when the tsunami in south Asia to save them from drowning.

Finally, we can identify the historical hero as a man who changed his nation or the world. As someone who has done important acts which have marked the history forever. One can cite the example of Julius Caesar's great warrior of Antiquity who in the history of these great battles but is also a founder of the current culture of Western Europe.

Using these examples, we can say that there is no hero but many types of heroes and that this concept is very subjective. It also poses debate, particular in the news regarding the decision for the French state to offer such as "Legion d'honneur".

Merci de votre Aide. ;)

6/ After the event, how did the neighbors behave towards the man? Why?<Contrairement au français, pas d'espace avant le point d'interrogation en anglais.Idem pour le point d'exclamation. J'ai rectifié mais mémorise-le une bonne fois.

The neighbors considered him a hero because he saved the girl's life by calling the police. Without his help, she would probably have died, he made an heroic act spontaneously.

7/How did he feel about his new "status"? Why?

He was a hero without wanting/willing to be that one.

6/ After the event, how did the neighbours (prend un "u" en anglais G.B) behave towards the man ? Why ?

The neighbours considered him a hero because he saved the life of the girl (emploie un cas possessif) by calling the police. Without his help, she would probably have died, he made an heroic act spontaneously.

7/How did he feel about his new "status" ? Why ?

He was a hero without want being having wanted that. He remained simple, modest and shy and he did not boast over this "heroic act". He wanted to remain anonymous, a citizen like the others who had just had a good reflex reaction and return to live again normally as if nothing had happened.

For my part, I would distinguish, in this brief analysis,: Tthe hero of stories, the everyday hero of everyday and the historical hero.

First of all, we must be careful to not to confuse/mix up a hero and a celebrity. Fame does his heroic character by media coverage that it be granted then that the hero already has a heroic character that the media merely recovered (Que veux-tu dire, en fait ?). (Indeed it is not because you're famous for winning a reality show that you are a hero !)

A literary hero is defined by me as a person that have who has a perfect character or nearly, who performs acts that nobody could did do.. For example it is (construction à revoir) in "L'Odysée" of Homère Omer's Odyssey, the character of Ulysses is brave, humble and fighting for a worthy goal, to find meeting his wife again.

Then we can describe and give an example of the everyday hero. From my point of view, this is a man like others, that is not distinguished from the rest of the population but who, one day, will perform an heroic act without thinking. It is, for example, a person who helped people spontaneously when the tsunami in south Asia to save them from drowning (Revois la syntaxe !).

Finally, we can identify the historical hero as a man who changed his nation or the world. As someone who has done important acts which have marked the history forever. One can cite the example of Julius Caesar's the great warrior of Antiquity who in the history of these great battles (Où est la fin de la proposition ?) but is also a founder of the current culture of Western Europe.

Using these examples, we can say that there is no hero but many types of heroes and that this concept is very subjective. It also poses debate, particularly in the news regarding the decision for the French state to offer such as "Legion d'honneur".

Ton anglais est nettement moins bon dans la 2ème partie. Un peu de fatigue ?

Bonsoir,

Merci de toutes ces corrections, concernant "le noeud du problème"

=> A la place de "Fame does his heroic character by media coverage that it be granted then that the hero already has a heroic character that the media merely recovered" est-il plus correcte de mettre " "A celebrity has its heroic character by the media coverage that it be given while the hero is only highlighted by the media", en tout cas ça me parait mieux !

Je vous remercie d'avance. :D
