http://anglais.ac-bordeaux.fr/liens/ct-llv12.htm

C'est, plutot les questions 5 , 6, 7, 13, 14, 15

Si quelqu'un avait, ca je lui serai reconnaissant, merci!

Hello !

Here's a little help :

Question #5 :

1. surgeon

2. suitable

3. nod (nodded)

4. recovered

5. resignation

6. worked out

7. I couldn't find that one (I expected to find "playground") :(

8. roam

Question #6 :

1. "both" refers to Inga and the doctor

2. "it" refers to "that a suitable donor..."

3. "his" refers to the driver of the other car (the one who died)

4. "them" refers to Mr van den Berg and the driver of the other car

5. "we" refers to the surgeon and the medical staff

6. "we" refers to the General Manager and the bank directors

7. "that" refers to "using the surplus we have in the sports fund"

Question #7 :

We know the scene takes place in South Africa because of the policy of Apartheid that used to reign there. The whites didn't want the blacks to have the same rights as they. Mandela, the opponents' leader was in prison for more than twenty years. Moreover the hero's name is typically Dutch.

Question #13 :

We don't know much about Mr van den Berg's nature before his accident. No doubt he was a bit selfish as we all are. Maybe he was a racist. But now, he intends to spend the rest of his life helping black youngsters lead a normal life, far from violence and drugs. Moreover, his new heart comes from a black man whose wife accepted the trasnplant. So I think the title "A change of Heart" is well chosen.

Question #14 :

When used at the 1st person singular, "shall" expresses determination from the speaker's part. Mr van den Berg is sure he'll never go working to the bank again.

Question #15 :

The use of "would" in such a context expresses an action that lasted in the past. It is an equivalent to "used to" which is much more common.

-------

Voila ! J'espère que cela t'aidera à mieux comprendre ton devoir.

@+ :)
